Barbra

Last week I traded puppies and got this adorable 7 month old black lab named Barbra (poor girl, but I think that's a horrible name for a dog). She was mellow, quiet, and willing. She also did not have any fear issues or prey drive to speak of...I think she has great potential to be an assistance dog. Her raiser was also happy to get her back after having Mr. OMSI for a week. OMSI went to work with him everyday at a school, and he said that OMSI did very well with all the kids and had very nice greetings. But, from what he said it sounds like OMSI was pushy and testy a lot, too - he is definitely having adolescent moments (or months!). He's still having some cape issues (trying to rub it off or scratch at it when he's wearing it) and has tried marking a couple times, but he's getting in the car now! We're going to be starting a weekly Agility class on Wednesday, which I think will be lots of fun!

Baja litter update!

I heard from Brynna's BC today, and she said that all the puppies are looking like fluffy Goldens :-( Although, I'm not that disappointed since I think that CCI needs more Goldens. But, both Inez and Shira have had their puppies! Inez whelped 10 puppies (!!!) on April 18th. The puppies are all yellow, and there are 5 boys and 5 girls. I have not heard for sure what the litter letter is, but it will be either P or R. Shira whelped her puppies yesterday (April 22). She had 7 puppies, 3 girls and 4 boys. Cody videos

I had some time at work yesterday and decided to take videos of some of the tasks that Cody can do. The audio seems to be delayed by a couple seconds compared with the action...probably something that happened when I combined the separate videos into one file and uploaded it. Also, my timing was somewhat off when I started recording the videos, so you may not hear the initial commands. These are the first videos I've ever done with my digital camera and also the first time I've edited videos, so hopefully I'll get better in the future.

Happy Birthday to Baja, Blaze, and Jaba! Ok, I'm a little late posting about it...Baja turned two years old on March 25th, Blaze turned three years old on March 27th, and Jaba turned four years old on April 4th. So, Happy Birthday boys!!!
